What makes it volume
A classic set puts one extension on one natural lash. A volume set puts a handmade fan on one natural lash — two to eight extensions, each far finer than a classic one, opened by hand at the moment of application and bonded at a single point.
The fans are lighter than they look. Because each lash in a fan is a fraction of the thickness of a classic extension, a fan of six can weigh less than one classic lash. That is what lets a volume set be dramatically fuller without loading your natural lashes — and it is also why fan-making is the part of the job that takes years to get right.
The result is darkness and density: no gaps along the lash line, a strong dark base, and a set that reads as full rather than merely long.

Which one is yours
Wispy Volume Set — J$12,500. Fans laid in peaks and dips so the set has texture and movement, with spikes that lift the whole eye. This is the birthday, wedding, shoot and photograph set — the fullest thing in the suite. With bottom lashes, J$15,000.
Uniform Volume Set — J$11,000. The same fans laid to one even length, edge to edge. Dense, clean and graphic rather than textured. If you like the look of a good strip lash but want it to be yours, this is it. With bottom lashes, J$13,500.
Refills are J$8,500 for either, booked within two to three weeks.

Who volume suits
- Sparse or gappy lash lines. Fans fill the spaces between natural lashes, which a classic set cannot do.
- Anyone who is photographed. Volume holds its shape under a camera flash where a lighter set disappears.
- People who want to skip eye make-up entirely. A dark volume base does the work of liner.
- Not ideal on very weak or damaged natural lashes — a uniform hybrid set is the better call, and you will be told so honestly at the appointment.
Two hours, and worth it. A full volume set takes about two hours because every fan is made by hand during the appointment. Eat beforehand, use the bathroom first, and put your phone away — you cannot look at it with your eyes closed.
Volume sets & refills
Refill prices apply to sets no more than two to three weeks old. Older than that, a full set is booked instead.
Questions people ask
Are volume lashes heavy?
No. Each lash in a handmade fan is a fraction of the thickness of a classic extension, so a fan of six can weigh less than one classic lash. Weight problems come from fans made with lashes that are too thick, not from volume itself.
How long do volume lashes last?
Two to three weeks looking full, and up to four with careful aftercare. Because volume sets are dense to begin with, they tend to look good for longer than a classic set as they grow out — the gaps are less obvious.
What is the difference between wispy and uniform volume?
Wispy varies the lengths in a deliberate pattern of peaks and dips for texture and lift. Uniform lays every fan to one even length for a smooth, dense line. Wispy flatters hooded and almond eyes; uniform suits round eyes and anyone who prefers a clean finish.
Can I get volume lashes if my own lashes are short?
Usually yes — volume is about density rather than length, and a uniform volume set suits short lashes well. What matters is the strength of your natural lashes, not their length, and that is assessed at the start of the appointment.
How much are volume lashes in Jamaica?
At Novalashethix in Portmore, volume sets are J$11,000 to J$12,500 — J$13,500 to J$15,000 with bottom lashes — and volume refills are J$8,500. A J$3,000 deposit confirms the booking and comes off the total.
