Why a set needs filling
You shed natural lashes every day — somewhere between two and five of them — and each one takes its extension with it. Nothing has gone wrong. It is the same cycle that has been running your whole life; you simply notice it now because there is something attached.
After two weeks a set is missing enough lashes to look thinner at the edges. After three, the gaps are obvious. A refill removes the grown-out extensions, fills the new natural lashes that have come through, and rebalances the whole set back to how it looked on day one.
Refilling on time is also the cheapest way to wear lashes: a refill is roughly two-thirds the price of a full set, and it keeps your natural lashes from carrying extensions that have grown too far out to be balanced.
Refill or full set?
- Within two weeks — a comfortable refill, and the set comes back fully.
- Two to three weeks — still a refill, and the normal booking window.
- Past three weeks, or under about 40% of the extensions left — a full set is booked instead. There is not enough of the old set left to build on, and filling it would take longer than starting fresh.
- Coming from another artist? Book a full set, not a refill. Different techniques, curls and adhesives do not layer cleanly — message the suite first if the old set still needs to come off.
Not sure which to book? Send a clear, well-lit photo of your lashes on WhatsApp before you book. It takes a minute and saves you paying for the wrong appointment.
If a set needs to come off
Never pull extensions off yourself. It is the single most common cause of the sparse, damaged lashes people blame on extensions — the adhesive is stronger than your natural lash, so the lash gives first, and it takes months to grow back.
A professional remover dissolves the bond in minutes and your natural lashes come through untouched. If a set is bothering you, or you are taking a break, message the suite on WhatsApp and it will be arranged.
Every set & its refill
Refill prices apply to Novalashethix sets no more than two to three weeks old. Older sets, and sets from another artist, are booked as a full set.
Questions people ask
How often should I get a lash refill?
Every two to three weeks. That is how long it takes your natural shedding cycle to leave visible gaps in a full set. Some people stretch to four weeks with very good aftercare; past that a full set is usually the honest answer.
How much is a lash refill in Portmore?
A Classic Wet Set or Uniform Hybrid refill is J$7,500; a Wispy Hybrid, Uniform Volume or Wispy Volume refill is J$8,500.
Can I get a refill on lashes done somewhere else?
No — a full set is booked instead. Curls, lengths, adhesives and fan technique differ between artists, and building on top of someone else's set gives an uneven result that is not fair to charge for. Message the suite first if the old set still needs to come off.
What happens if I leave it too long?
Nothing bad happens to your lashes, but the appointment changes. Under roughly 40% remaining, filling takes longer than a fresh set and looks worse, so it is booked as a full set at full price. Send a photo on WhatsApp if you are unsure.
Does taking extensions off damage your lashes?
A professional remover does not — it dissolves the adhesive, so nothing is pulled. Picking extensions off at home absolutely does, because the bond is stronger than the natural lash holding it.
